The economy may be slowing

According to the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) there are predictions that the UK economy will be slowing from the 2.7 per cent in 2007, down to only 1.4 per cent for the year 2008. This may not seem much, but in these sorts of drops are huge and could have long lasting effects.

The drop is going to be once again laid on the doorstep of the banking problems that have occurred over the past few weeks and the tightening of the credit availability. This will also have an effect on the housing market, in both investment in new stock and the selling of new or existing stock.

It is estimated therefore that if there is not an election this November, then the next favourable time will be in early 2010, so the election will be in a few weeks or a couple of years time!
