Anita Roddick, dies at the age of 64

She was probably the UK’s best-known woman entrepreneur and founder of the green retailer The Body Shop. Anita Roddick died yesterday at the 64 after being struck down by a fatal brain haemorrhage.

It was way back in 1976 when the original Body Shop opened up its doors in Brighton, who could have known then, that from that little acorn, a giant oak that we have come to know as the Body Shop would have grown, yet her principles in those days have actually laid the foundations of many eco friendly ideas that we take for granted today.

Her legacy will continue in the many organisations that she helped form, and campaigns that went against the flow initially, but today would just seem to be common sense. The queen of green may be dead but the work will continue in her name.
