A good time to be in business

It is being said that now is a good time to be in business. With investments in new business reaching new heights, and a huge range of incentives from the government, who wouldn’t want to be in business?

It appears that television programmes such as the Dragons Den and The Apprentice have actually encouraged more people to think of starting a business, rather than the opposite.

In the first quarter of the year around 106,000 new businesses were started, while figures taken from different sources indicate that venture capital investments has risen by 27% in UK companies alone, these figures make the UK the largest market for this type of investment.

Yet it would appear that starting a business is not confined to the types that we have seen on TV shows, there is a growing trend that sees teenagers setting up their own businesses, which has prompted Young Enterprise to run an annual competition to represent the UK in the European Young Entrepreneurs Competition, this year being held in Berlin.
