After sixteen years, Sci-Fi changes name

Not wanting to be limited to providing just sci-fi the most famous genre based channel in the world is about to change its name.

The Sci-Fi Channel has been responsible for providing some the most popular TV sci-fi shows around for as long as satellite TV has been around, but programming has changed over the years and this is clear from the channels own content.

Take the hit show “Eli Stone” this is more fantasy than sci-fi and so from this summer the Sci-Fi Channel will become SyFy, it sounds the same but offers more flexibility for the channel to offer a broader a type of content that will cover traditional sci-fi genre, including fantasy, supernatural, paranormal, reality, mystery, action and adventure.
