Treasure hunter uses Google Maps

Google maps are great for finding directions from one place to another. However, could this be the first time that this service from the search engine has been used to find lost treasure?

The case comes up because of a legal battle, which has started, between a 39 year old musician and filmmaker and the representatives of an estate in Refugio County in Texas.

The musician claims to have found the shipwreck of a ship which was grounded on the Mission River in order to avoid a hurricane, subsequently the ship sank killing half of the crew. Nevertheless, the claim is that the cargo of gold was moved by Native Americans and buried.

This is the problem, the use of Google Maps has shown what is said to be the last resting place of the ship and the gold, the case continues in court.
