The end of the VHS

For a lot of people the video recorder is something that could be found in the technology museum, but surprisingly there are a lot of VHS players out there being used every day but not for long as the last producer of VHS equipment is finally throwing in the towel.

So finally the format that killed off beta and video 2000 is itself looking at the last days of its life, but in technology circles it has been a long life spanning from the 1980’s, nearly thirty years in a fast changing world is good by anyone’s standards.

The last film to be released on this format was back in 2006, since then it has been downhill with some users hanging on desperately hanging on, but with replacement parts and tapes hard to get hold of, the DVD is the new VHS, until BluRay takes over.
