Fairtrade coffee for all UK Starbucks fans

The coffee business in the high streets of the UK must be feeling the pinch during the current financial crisis, not because there are so many of them, after all competition is great for business.

This is going to be mainly down to the lack of cash that is around at the moment, which means that in order to capitalise on those customers that do have the cash the spend on a cup of coffee and maybe a muffin or two, the coffee shops are having to rely on other tactics.

Starbucks has been at the wrong end of claims that they waste water recently, but they have managed to hit back by making sure that all of their seven hundred stores in the UK and Ireland will be using only Fairtrade coffee.

At the moment, Starbucks only use around six per cent Fairtrade coffee, but when this plan takes effect they will be become the largest buyer of Fairtrade coffee.
