Fat parents paid to walk kids

It looks as if there is going to be a crossover between businesses and getting fit, the government under the direction of the Health Secretary, Alan Johnson are planning to pay obese parents to walk their kids to school or to simply walk the bus or train station.

The reward is not going to be cash, but rather vouchers, which can then be spent on healthy food and even sports equipment. It will also be available to those overweight people who go to the gym or attend weight loss clubs.

Critics of these types of scheme claim that it is something like bribery, but if it works then why not.

The initial scheme will be launched in Manchester where the volunteers are given a card to swipe at designated places such as stations and schools. Manchester is just one of the nine healthy towns announced by the government recently.
