File sharers should donate savings
Blog action day always brings out the best in people or so it would seem, the focus is always on how we change the world for the better. So in order to combat world poverty there has been a cool idea that would allow those users of pirated films, music and software to donate a week’s worth of savings to change the world.
Of course, saving from pirated material could amount to a lot of cash, if you follow the average cost of a music track or album; these would have cost around a £1 and £10 respectively, so if the average user donates £5 to £10 it is easy to see how fast this could grow.
However, what happens if the authorities catch up with the file sharers, they would have to pay the fine and they would have donated a week’s worth of saving into the bargain, unless the music industry wipes the slate clean.
