Are Bio Fuels bad for business?

Well this is going to be part of the big debate, because yes Bio Fuels are great but they are really not a replacement for fossil fuels, they will just extend their usage by a few years.

The real problem with the rise of Bio Fuels is the damage that the growing this crop does, in Brazil they have been growing sugar cane since 1525 but according to The Brazilian Sugar Cane Industry Association (UNICA) around half a million jobs within the industry will be lost within the next three years.

This is not because they are not going to grow sugar cane anymore, they simply want to mechanise it, this is so they can cut and process the cane in vast quantities.

But at the same time there will be a huge rise in deforestation to make way for the sugar cane fields to be expanded as the government believes that this could be the next big thing for the country.
