Skype to be sold by eBay
Although the VOIP phone service is a great idea, for the company that own it eBay, there are not many opportunities for company to any money out the system, or that is what is being perceived from the comments of top executive John Donahoe.
They need to find ways of exploiting the system, so that they can use Skype in conjunction with their core business, which are auctions and online payments. However how they make Skype pay for itself through this type of e-commerce is not really coming to light and so there are worries regarding the future of Skype.
When eBay paid $3.1 billion for the system it was a sure thing that this could be used to enhance the eBay buying and selling experience, and yet this has failed to materialise and the company has since devalued the phone service to $1.4 billion.
