Space tourism by 2010

Another space plane has been announced which could start operating within two years, with the first flights in the Lynx craft taking a single passenger up into space for thirty seven miles sometime during 2010.

The cost for this fantastic voyage will be something in the region of £50,000; the trip will be very similar to a standard aircraft, as the craft would take off and land using a conventional runway.

Being a two seater craft the Lynx by US based company XCOR they will find some serious competition from Virgin Galactic who recently revealed their craft Space Ship Two, which is a six seater craft, which could begin flight tests later on this year.

These are very exciting if not rather expensive times for anyone interested in becoming an astronaut.
