Digital products banned on eBay

For some time there have been many complaints about the sale of digital goods such as e books, pdfs and Mp3 files, but could also include other data such as a recipe or a simple piece of information on how to do something. The trouble with this type of product is that they can be thousands of ads for the same item.

So order to even things up, the online auction eBay has decided to ban these items from the auction listings. They believe that in some cases these items are being sold not for a great profit, as the prices are normally very cheap and can be easily replicated, but they are being used to artificially manipulate the feedback system.

However these items can still be sold through eBay but they must go through the classified section, which run differently to the auction listings. There is no exchange of feedback to start with, which will enable all buyers to feel rest assured that the feedback on one seller is real and been created through free or low cost items.
