EU puts $22 million into filesharing

Peer to peer filesharing has been given the thumbs up by the European Union as a new project named P2P-Next has been given $22 million from the EU and another $6 million from other European partners to develop the new system.

Surprisingly one of the more famous names who will be taking part in the project is the BBC, they are interested in using Bit Torrents to stream TV programmes.

It is estimated that around half of all internet users use Bit Torrents is some form or another; however the most popular reason is for the downloading of TV programmes. Which is why this project has been put together in the first, the whole object of the exercise is to create a legal way for users to see the programmes that they want to see and when.
