Filmmakers ask to be pirated

While the major film companies spend more money on trying to prevent the pirating of their products than the most of the films total budgets at the Sundance festival have, they must be pulling their hair out when it turns out that no films from the 2007 festival have been pirated at all.

Its not that there is no quality there, some of the films are very good indeed, it’s a question of business, the pirates are in business too and they need to provide the right products.

When it comes down to the public they only want to see the blockbusters and those films that are getting all of the publicity, nobody is going to copy and upload a film that is not going to get watched at all, so for those film makers who wish to make it big, being pirated is one of the best compliments in the industry.
