Digg for sale

It has been the talk for some time that the social voting site Digg would be either sold or taken into a larger group, but there has never been any real substance behind all of these claims, but now it would seem that the owners of the site has put a price tag on Digg, is this just in case someone may want to pick up a bargain or something else?

Digg’s management have employed the Investment bank Allen & Company to do their thing on the business and they have come up with a serious price of around $300 million!

The problem now is would anyone want to buy Digg in the first place and at $300 million is the business worth that much? Maybe to both of those, but perhaps this is ploy by Digg to lay all the rumours to rest, by putting a price tag on it, then only a serious offer would suffice.
