“I feel lucky” costs millions

Poor old Google, every time that a Google users presses the “I Feel Lucky” button on the search engine its costs them money, according the one of the co founders Sergey Brin, costing them money however is not entirely true, what he means is that they don’t actually make any money, there is a slight but subtle difference there.

Searches made through this button only amount to around one per cent of all searches, and yet the estimated cost is around $110 million which is a fair amount of potential lost income. So why do they keep this costly button? Google say it’s to remind people that there are humans still working at Google.
