There’s no money in Wi-Fi

Municipal wireless projects are great for the areas but for companies like Earthlink they are not only a nightmare but unprofitable as well.

But it would that it is the companies fault, as they have been working on the wireless system in Philadelphia and with only a small percentage of the work done, they have realised that the initial survey that was done was completely wrong. As they anticipated using around 25 nodes per square mile, currently they have to install 47 nodes in order to get a complete coverage.

The sad thing is that a municipal wireless network would be really great for business and residents, but it is just the cost of setting it up that is problem.
